Always reblog

I actually really needed this right now, I know you’re not here, you’re so far away, but I heard that in your voice and I don’t think I could feel more suicidal than I do now. But your voice in my head makes me want to keep going, for you, to make you proud

reblogging because of that ^^

I may not know you. I may not have even spoken to you. But the statement above is no less true. Whoever you are, I am so proud of you.

This made me cry. I needed this

“im so  proud of you” I’v always wanted to hear those words..

I’m so proud of you^^^  even though you don’t know me, I’m a real person, and i am proud of you. i swear.

I am proud of you.

I really am.

Hello subscribers! Welcome to #NGQ03. There’s no better way to celebrate this summer than with some summertime fun, so I am very excited to share with you my favorite products for the occasion.

» CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO MY QUARTERLY «

I am a huge fan of the World Cup, so to commemorate the 2014 Brazilian fútbol games, I worked with Spenglish to design this custom Muito Cool baseball cap for you. As one of the coolest accessories for this summer, it is not only perfect for the moment, but will also serve as a memento of the 2014 World Cup for years to come.

The other accessory that every fashionista must have every summer is a go-to bag. Whenever this time of the year hits, I set aside my usual lady-like purses and opt for a lightweight clutch. One of my personal favorites is a Koku pouch that doubles as a summer clutch. All of Koku’s products are handmade in Greece. The clutch that you will find inside features raffia fringe and a plexiglass decoration—giving it an unparalleled summery feel.

Of course with the onset of summer, most of us go through a change of routine and encounter new priorities. At the top of my list is protecting my skin. For that purpose, I have included Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration SPF 30. It’s classic Hawaiian Tropics scent evokes the feeling of summer and it’s broad spectrum protection will keep your skin safe, helping you stay worry-free.

As we shed our many layers of winter clothing and bring out the sport shorts, skirts, and bathing suits, many of us are sure to show a little more skin. To make shaving less of a chore, I have included an incredible, vegan, organic shave gel by Surya Brasil. Your legs will be super smooth, and you can rest easy knowing that it doesn’t contain any GMO’s and is cruelty free.

Many of you can probably relate to the summer heat and humidity wreaking havoc on your hair. It can get dry and frizzy, and can be a real beast to tame. Enter Joico K-Pak intense hydrator. It will moisturize and calm your hair, making it healthier, shinier, and just overall more manageable when styling.

Once you get that style locked down, keep it going strong by spraying it with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. It acts like a dry shampoo in that it absorbs oil at the roots, but adds volume and texture to your hair. It gives it a “just done” look, and will keep your style looking fresh for a couple of days (who has time to redo it every day?!). It’s an amazing product and I hope you turn to it as often as I do when you’re short on time, but need your hair to look fabulous.

No summer look is complete without a bright lip and nail—tis the season for bold, intense, saturated colors! I have included a Calvin Klein lipstick to make your lip pop and a Formula X nail lacquer, available exclusively at Sephora, to keep your look on trend and complete. The proper lip and nail can pull together a casual, relaxed summer look and elevate it to a stylish and polished ensemble.

Carry them in your canvas palm tree print clutch created by Print All Over Me. Its summery pattern makes it the perfect pouch to hold all of your summer essentials this year. Throw in the red flower Italian blood orange refreshing hand & face towelettes to freshen up when you are on the go.

In addition to these must-haves, there are a few other accessories I want to share with you to get you through your summer. For starters, your device deserves an upgrade in the accessory department too! In the spirit of Brazil and summer, I worked with OtterBox to design this protective case inspired by Brazilian street art. Please find the OtterBox card in your package, and head to the link provided to redeem your case.

I have also included a desk ornament from the Brazilian shoe designer, Melissa. Melissa creates vegan, rubber shoes and has collaborated with designers such as Vivienne Westwood, and architect Zaha Hadid. On the shelf at home or on your desk at work, this little shoe is the perfect item for the fashion obsessed.

There’s no better way to get you in the mood for summer than with some great music. That’s why I’ve chosen to include these super chic white, in-ear headphones decorated with a gold wire overlay from Frends. These beauties are so pretty that they almost look like a piece of jewelry—why shouldn’t your tech gear be super stylish?

Lastly, I included one of my favorite candles by Nest Fragrances. I absolutely adore these candles, and the summery scents are incredible. I even burn them into the beginning of fall in attempts to keep the summer feeling going as long as possible!

Thanks again for subscribing, and I hope you enjoy the assortment I have put together for this mailing. Please let me know what you think of the package and how you are styling the items using the hashtag #NGQ03.

Enjoy your summer!

This looks like so much fun!

okay, most of what i do re: harry potter is criticism, and hp is flawed in such a number of ways, but sometimes i just sit here and

i mean, you all have a comprehension of just how drastically harry potter changed literature, yeah? like. it revitalized it. it blew the literary…

Anon, who are you???

A while back, someone anonymous asked me as to why my Do You Wanna Build a Snowman song wasn’t showing up. Going through my asks, I’m wondering why on earth would someone want to view that?? Hahaha! I mean, really, I really really really suck at singing. I’m terrible.

(And, yet, I post videos of me singing. There’s gotta be something wrong with me, right?)

And now I’m wondering who it was. Anyone wanna come clean? I won’t hurt you, I promise!

Anyways. Moving on.

No, really. I won’t hurt you!

My gal pals and I have been planning our getaway trip for this summer—our very first one! Haha! It’s going to be awesome when we get started, however, it was a pain to plan. We had to meet up online since I’m from out of town just to put our heads together. We spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out where we were heading—I think it took us about two hours before we settled on Nashville. Meeting up online to do this was a bit of a challenge since I couldn’t hear everyone when we were talking. It would be Sarah and Nour in front of Nour’s laptop while Whitney was off to the side searching possible destinations and activities. I could hear Sarah and Nour just fine since they were in front of the screen, but Whitney was coming out all garbled. I could have complained, but Whitney looked extremely comfortable where she was at and it was late at night. Comfort is a big deal late at night, even for us night owls.

In the end, we finished everything in about three-ish hours? But it was a painful three hours since we started at around 10pm and finished close to 2am. I was snacking throughout the whole chat, which probably wasn’t the best idea considering I slacked on my workouts last week along with my healthy eating. Hehe.

Ugh, guys, guys, guys: I cannot wait to go on this trip! I’ll finally have some awesome stuff to post since what I’ve been doing at home is just cleaning, finding a new apartment, and finalising things for the upcoming school year. New videos, new posts! I am tingling with so much excitement! Especially since I’ve never done anything like this before.

Wait. Whut? Aren’t you, like, 21?

Well, yes, yes, I am.

I worked my buttocks off all throughout high school and before that to ensure that I would look great to colleges. That was my choice. Also, I was a *little* sheltered, but, for the most part, I’m okay with that because it ensured that I could get into practically any college I wanted to since I put in all of that effort. (Okay, maybe not Yale or Harvard, but Stanford expressed some interest in me! That’s something, right? [If not, please don’t stab me. Just prod me, eh?]) So I wasn’t out a lot like most kids at that age, big deal. I turned out okay.

Right?

Don’t answer that. :P

I’d love to hear from any of you one what you’ve been up to all summer or will be up to!Tell me all about your shenanigans. Also, I’d love to know who that anon was!

Rule no. 1 when it comes to clothes shopping/cleaning your closet…

Make sure YOU are the one wearing the clothes and the CLOTHES aren’t wearing you.

Really, make sure you look GREAT in the clothing—they were made to make you look awesome and not the other way around.

Hello, lovelies!
I’m back…briefly because I am tired and travelling home at present. I thought I would do a post in the meantime, though, on

WHAT’S IN MY MAKE-UP BAG?

Let’s take a peek into my Tarte bag, hmm? I have a stick of deodorant because, let’s face it: IT IS FREAKING HOT. The MidWest is killing me right now and summer just started. Ugh.

My brother stashed his hair product in here. I actually like this one. It smells great and doesn’t make his hair sticky unlike products he used in the past.

Next would be Mum’s Revlon eyelash curler and a new brush from EcoTools that Mum swears by. She has her own and has been using it for some time now to apply both wet and dry foundation. So far, the bristles haven’t clumped together after a few applications. She says they haven’t done so even when she’s applying he makeup nor has it lost any bristles on her face! I guess I’ll have to try this sometime…

For now, I apply my foundation using my fingertips. I borrowed Mum’s CoverGirl Tru Blend in M5. I was a little apprehensive to try it since Mum’s skin is shades lighter than mine, but this matched flawlessly and went on lightly. Plus plus for me because it’s hard for me to find a foundation the feels just right and looks just right. I’ve tried high end and low end and so far this one works—well, for now. We shall see if I break out after this.

On top of that, I applied a *brand new* wet and dry pressed powder foundation from Ulta called Double Duty that Momma got me. I didn’t realise she got me one! Just like the foundation, it went on nicely and matched perfectly. It covered my brutally shiny face for the entire ceremony up until now as I type this.

Now, you guys might not know this about me but I SUCK at applying eye makeup so I generally stick to a winged eyeliner and mascara (when I want to up my game a little bit). I used Revlon’s stiletto liquid eyeliner for the wing and Rimmel London’s pencil eyeliner (not pictured) for my eyelids since those seem to hate liquid eye liner for some reason or other. I followed that up with (leave Mum to rescue me when I can’t find waterproof mascara at home. She handed me a brand new set!!) a few coats of Ulta’s Plush Drama volume mascara followed by the Rain Coat waterproof topcoat. So far, my eyes are doing great! :)

To finish of the eyes, I filled in my brows first using Mally’s eyebrow filler in taupe to shape and then brushed in the rest with Smashbox’s eyebrow set. After that, some Carmex and a touch of Mally’s lipgloss in Southern peach which were later stored in my Ivanka Trump wristlet.

See ya later, guys! I’m beat and would like to take a nap until we get some caffeine.

Stay lovely!

SamiJoie
